I’ve just become aware that there is a recall for the 19” Goodyear tyres if you car had those fitted at the factory.
I called and booked in as it a pretty serious safety issue. The inside walls can split and over on the ID3 forum there is a picture of members tyres which have it and it looks bloody dangerous!
There is also a recall for the bonnet splitter pin and that’s being done at the same time.
You can check yours here (is the Aussie site but works for me in the U.K.) https://checkout.cupraofficial.com.au/o ... ns-recalls

I doubt that. It's not really relevant who owns who, there are a lot more tyre brands than tyre companies, see here: https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/who ... brands.htmI understand that Continental bought Goodyear so that would explain it. I entered my vin number and it said a recall on the Goodyear tyres.
The recall is about Goodyear branded tyres, regardless of whether another company owns them or not. So if the recall appears for your VIN (it does for mine too, which also has Conti tyres), it's either a mistake in the recall lookup system or, more likely, that the recall only applies *if* your car has Goodyear tyres. Car manufacturers use different brands of tyres on the same model and it's likely that which make was mounted on your car is not recorded in the VIN database.
It seems this is the case

Check my vin and my car has the bonnet pin and tyre recall.
Checked and it is on 19" Goodyears.
So does this mean that it should get all 4 tyres replaced?

Thanks all. Booked mine in this morning (earliest appointment: early July - sigh). This was the first time they'd heard about the tyre recall so they didn't really know whether it would be an inspection, or a replacement at this point but they suspected (and hoped) that by the time our appointment comes around, they'll have it worked out. We've not received a letter and it's not on the DVLA system yet, but I dare say these will follow in a few weeks.
There is something quite unsettling about modern dealers (especially VAG ones, it seems) doing safety-critical recalls, but only offering appointments 6 weeks in the future. This feels like a massive exposure to the manufacturer of knowingly allowing potentially unsafe cars to drive around on the roads.
