I was at a friend's house a fair way from home and tried to charge my car using the mains charging cable, but it wouldn't work. The red light next to the "cross in a circle" symbol on the "conversion box" lit up, as soon as I plugged it into the mains, it wasn't obvious from the diagram on the back exactly what that meant, but something about the AC supply not being right.
However, my friend has a Tesla and he lent me his mains charging cable and it worked just fine

When I got home I tried the cable here (I had never used it before as I have a 11kW wall box), and it also worked fine.
Still strange how the Tesla cable seemed to be able to handle the "bad" supply.
