I have just had an email from the supplying dealership for one of our Borns, offering 25% off my "SEAT". Just went to follow up and as I should have expected, it tells me my Cupra isn't a SEAT and won't let me proceed.

Even at 25% off, the price is scandalous.

It is scandalous, for an EV, wonder if that price assumes your “Seat” is an ICE?

Ah thanks. Potentially interested in the 3 year for cars 0-30 days old at £7.75 a month. Although not sure £279 is that great for 1 x service, MOT, pollen filter and brake fluid change compared to just paying at the time, shame they haven’t put that pack in the sale.

Whoever set up that pricing structure needs to go to nightschool and resit their maths GCSE.

eCare 2 (pollen filter + service [kick the tyres] + brake fluid change = £264, or £198 over 24 months for all cars 30 days to 1 year old.

eCare 3 adds some wipers and an MOT for £396 or £297 over 36 months if your car is over 30 days old. Given that it's illegal to charge more than the current MOT rate of about £55, that makes for some expensive wiper blades (£44)!

Let's not even go to eCare 4 which is one step short of theft.

eCare2 over 24 months seems the only "reasonable" option. £198 for 10 second fitment of a £17 pollen filter, 30 mins of visual checks and an £80 brake fluid change which is almost certainly unnecessary.

Go for eCare 2 over 24 months and buy your own MOT when required. Best of a bad bunch.

Surprised that brake fluid is seemingly done at 2 years old rather than 3. Every VAG I've ever had from new has first brake fluid change at 3 years, then every 2 years thereafter. Really failing to see the value here, definitely unnecessary to do brake fluid change as soon as 2 years, and environmentally, it's pretty poor to bin the brake fluid and replace when a simple moisture test would determine whether it needs doing at all (and probably doesn't need doing for at least 5 years if there are new brake system faults.

For a 0-30 day old car the 3 year at £279, looks way better than £264 for the 2 year? Actually for 0-30 day cars the 2 year isn’t available, which makes sense.

So building on your pricing breakdown the £279 looks reasonable at £97 service/inspection, £17 filter, £80 brake fluid, £55 MOT, £30 wiper blades. Especially at £7.75 a month and they collect and deliver a clean car ?

Don't pay £264 for the 2 year car upfront, it's cheaper monthly (£198 total cost). 0-30 days isn't available to me.

Take a good look at those monthlies. I'd rather pay in a lump rather than having a little dribbling out every month over 2 years, but the monthly payments method ends up being much cheaper.

Your cleaned car will also come with free swirls and holograms. I never let a dealership wash my car with their gritty sponge.

Yeah, good point. I’ll pass on having them clean it!

The eCare 3 for 0-30 day old cars looks pretty good at £279/£7.75x36, all signed up with Citygate :)
