I have just seen a tow bar advertised and thought it may be an option for some. It is not cheap, but I assume adds value to the car if or when sold and seems a very simple solution.

Only takes 75kg. That ain't much.

Advert Translation:

CUPRA Born trailer hitch incl. assembly and MFK

Do you have a CUPRA Born and want to take your bikes with you?

Schlossgarage Brunegg AG will install the trailer hitch for you, including technical inspection. Your CUPRA Born gets a vertical load of up to 75 kg. This means that the coupling has enough vertical load to transport up to 3 e-bikes.

The introductory price for this detachable trailer hitch is CHF 1,850 including VAT and includes the trailer hitch including small items, assembly work and technical approval at the Aargau Road Traffic Office.

Still, something is better than nothing.

I would rather find a roof rack that fitted.

These suction sets for Tesla's are apparently good. Only for the occasional moments I need to go and get a length of timber from B&Q or something.
