Just to be clear with the talk of run flats, the self sealing tyres are not run flats. They have a layer of gel covering the tread area of the inside of the tyre. If you get a puncture in the zone of the tyre where a repair would normally be possible, the gel will fill/seal it and you may never know you had a puncture until the service department points it out when your car is next in. If you get a puncture in the side wall of a self sealing tyre, the tyre will not seal and you'll be stranded until the AA/RAC pick you up.

Hi there I am new member just got my Born 2 weeks ago. I have been chasing the dealer for a tyre inflation kit, warning triangle and first aid kit since I got the car. The dealer just called me finally and told me that none of this equipment comes with the car and I will have to buy it if I want it? Can't believe it! I didn't know the tyres are self sealing though so maybe this is why. On the plus side he has the mats that should have been in the car and were not supplied.

If you have a V1on 18" wheels, those tyres are not self sealing, and it seems that Gunk and pump may not now be included as it was on all but the most recent ID3s.
