Hi guys, i recently recieved my Born Performance with the optional Senheiser audio system. After watching some promo's about the new system on the Senheiser website i decided to add this package to my Born with great expectations. But after a few weeks of use and looking at the costs of the system I find it quite disappointing and in some respects just plain bad.
The systeem is poorly balanced and the equalizer and 3 STUDIO settings perform below par. The settings 'MUSIC' and 'CLUB' seem very similar and are pumped up by a kind of LOUDNESS settings that cannot be switched off. The 'SPEECH' setting is very flat with a lot of MID frequency and further flat tones.
Today i went back to the dealership and they confirmend that the audiosystem is not performing like a high end systeem but there was nothing they could do, i have the latest FW and SW update and a similair 2024 Born sounded the same. With a lower volume it sounds ok but once you hit the 60% volume the quality is getting downhill fast.
Anyone else experiencing the same poor quality with the Senheiser system.
Since my born has been serviced by VW, I am thinking of writing to the Cupra importer because they ultimately sold me the system.

On what grounds would you write to the importer?!

Here in the Netherlands Cupra doesn't have own workshops, you are sent to a VW or SEAT garage so i hope that someone at the Cupra importer (were i bought the car) can help me with my concerns about the audiosystem, i just think it's not functioning like it should be. The mechanic in the workshop had no experience with this system.
Over the years there have been threads about this in other forums with hundreds of comments.
Bottom line: don't expect any Cupra/VW workshop to be able to anything at all about it.
Here are your only options:
- replace the door speakers with better ones
- add a DSP controller where you can customize the frequency response for the door speakers and the sub
- soundproof the doors and maybe the trunk, eg. alubutyl
- add a subwoofer with one that sits inside the trunk or replace the current one with something like this:
