In my case it unlocked without trouble, and when I re-locked it the app then displayed the correct status.

Overall though, this software update shows just how far short of the mark VW's developers still are.

In my case, the update initially showed up on the screen, but by the time I'd got my stuff out of the car the message had gone. I has to drive the car up and down the road for it to reappear!

Then, it was totally unclear how to start the installation - clicking the displayed message did nothing. It was only because I read these forums that I realised that the lights needed to be switched from Auto to Off. There was no info on the screen to say so.

Then it allowed me to start the install. Once I'd clicked and then left and locked the car as instructed, there was no indication that the install was proceeding, either on the screen or in the phone app.

This morning, there was no indication that the install was complete, until I go into the car and put it 'in gear'.

Dreadful!
I've just had the update on a September 2023 Born. This was basically my exact experience also.

I haven't really noticed anything different (though I've only done one drive since) but I can confirm that the 'lowering volume when doors open' bug seems to be still bugged.

Mine appeared today. Similar experience to those above, once you click start it doesn't tell you it's doing anything. Locked the car and checked back 4hrs later and all was good although it took a while for the pop up to appear and tell me it had installed an update. I then clicked the button to find out what was in the update. Weirdly, after the system hanging for for several minutes it then prompted me another update was needed, this one was pretty quick (see pics).

My Nov 22 Born took the update overnight last night. Everything seemed slow and as if it's still chunking away running clean up routines or something in the background for my short trip this morning, will see what it's like in the next few days.
V2, no eBoost, in Blue.
Took the DCC and panoramic roof options.

I wonder if having your car parked in an area of good network coverage matters. In the parking garage of the apartment block I live in the cell reception is not great, although the car does have connectivity as I'm able to check charging state etc in the app when it's parked there.

FYI - I had emailed Cupra a week or 2 ago asking about the latest update before it started appearing in the UK. This is the response I got today:

We sincerely apologize for the delayed response to your email. We have been experiencing a higher than usual volume of requests, which resulted in the delay.

We would like to kindly inform you that all Cupra Borns which:
  • have performed the workshop campaign 3.2.1+.
  • were manufactured (SOP) from Cw15/23 until Cw32/23
  • have performed the ORU campaign 3.5.1,

will receive the 3.5.2 update. In the UK it should have started on 25.02.25.

Thank you for your understanding.

OTA update arrived yesterday. All went smoothly overnight and then had to update an app which looks like it was the Digital Manual. No new features. Media favourites layout still weird and can't save driving preferences but infotainment seems responsive.

Interesting that yours actually says "Switch off side lights" under the main info box. Mine didn't - and wouldn't install until I did. I only found that I had to by reading through the forum posts!

Okay I don't know if this is the new update or my phone, but while the car's UI does seems more responsive, the responsiveness for Android Auto has gone down the toilet. (Software 1751 on hardware H31).

I'm getting a horrible delay on both the Android Auto touch inputs and the display image (so like the map while driving, speed I'm doing etc). What's strange is it seems that the longer I drive the longer this delay gets. I did my 25 minute commute today, and when I parked up the input delay was 26 seconds, the map still showed me on the main road doing 30mph, and the time was showing one minute behind! I then did a 10 minute drive later in the day and these delays were about 3 seconds when I parked up.

No idea what's going on, but this was not a problem until I updated the car. Funny thing is when these delays are happening, if I tap the climate control for example (so something other than the Android Auto interface) it responds immediately...

And for reference I'm running AA wirelessly, haven't tried wired yet.

Anyone else experiencing this after the update?

I have that too for the past few days, and I haven't had the OTA so it's unrelated.
