Having to have two new rear tyres fitted on Born V2 after only 11800 miles. Has anyone else had to do the same?

Yeah, I’ve done 9000 and the rear two are ready for changing. Had two nails in the space of a week just before Christmas, one front one back, had the back one repaired but it’s going to need changing before we get a cold snap.

My first rears lasted about 9500. I was thinking of starting a thread asking what people's experience of different brands of tyres were.

The ones fitted to my V2 are Bridgestone 215/50R19 93T Not impressed but the front ones are fine with quite a lot of miles left on them

It came with Continentals which had good grip but I wasn't impressed with the rears only doing 9500 miles (I think I'll be lucky to get about 12000 out of the fronts) so I replaced with Pirelli Cinturo All weather tyres which aren't as grippy as the traction control cuts in a lot now.

Mine are 215/45 r20.

My work colleague has an Enyaq and was asking about tyre wear, I couldn't help as my mileage and age are both low and I switch to winter tyres for half the year, but I did point her to this thread. Maybe of interest to Born owners too.

Got about 11k miles out of the rears of the wife's Born (Continental EcoContact 6) when one got an unrepairable puncture. Down to 2.5mm we got a pair of Michelin Primacy EV tyres on. The Michelins seem a lot thicker than the Contis (which are shockingly thin - surprised I haven't had more than 2 punctures.

Worth noting that Bridgestone tyres (mainly fitted to V1s with 18" wheels) only come with 5.9mm tread, which cuts down their usable life.

I had heard about new cars being fitted with tyres with half tread but assumed that wasn't true as the continentals fitted on mine had full tread.

Was thinking of starting a similar thread, my V2 is almost 18 months old and at just under 15,000 miles on original Continental EcoContact tyres. To be honest am surprised I have done this many miles on the tyres.
Starting to look at replacements for when the time comes and will probably go with Michelin.

Bridgestone are the only ones I'm aware of doing this. Their justification was tgat their tyres last so long anyway (due to their rock hard compound, making them generally awful).
