Hi all,

I've been told by CUPRA that by the 15th Jan 2024, my order will be in status03?

Does anyone have any knowledge as to what this means and if it's a good sign? Does it means it will be built on this date?

I have encountered two different sets of status codes from VW. Yours seems to fall into the second set:

Status Codes – ID.3 Forum
0 Assigned to factory order no production week scheduled
10 Factory ordered with production week scheduled
20 Factory ordered production week confirmed
30 In transit from factory
36 Vehicle in port of exit – not released
38 Vehicle in port of exit – released to shipping
39 Vehicle on ship
40 Vehicle arrival at UK port
60 Dispatched to Dealer
70 Vehicle arrived at Dealer

From another source:

03 Locked (wheel step 3)
05 Locked next step order created
10 Locked next step request production
10-2 Locked next step production scheduling soon
15-1 Vehicle Scheduled For Production (call your dealer now they usually have better dates than the portal.)
15-2 Vehicle in production
20-1 Production complete, VIN assigned
20-2 Left the port (wheel step 4, at this point some dealers can tell you a ship number for those really obsessed with this.)
30-1 Arrived in port but not unloaded yet.
30-2 Unloaded from ship, not cleared customs yet (wheel step 5.).
30-3 Cleared customs, waiting to load on transporter
35-1 released to the transporter (rail)
35-2 released to the transporter (truck)
35-3 released to the transporter (shorter distance truck?)
40 in a holding parking lot waiting for a truck
50 and higher- Arriving at dealer (wheel step 6-7, yet often dealer calls and its in before wheel updates)
Born V3, Aurora Blue, Tech (M) pack, Firestorm wheels, Pano roof
Ordered 21 June, 2022, delivered 17 Jan 2023

Hi and thanks for this.

Below is what Cupra have said to me afterwards:

"I have taken the initiative to look into this for you and can confidently confirm that your vehicle order is in status 03 for next year, where the factory will then commence with your order as of the 15 January 2024 for build.

Usually by status 30 your vehicle would be in transit to be shipped to the port, so if your vehicle had to be in status 30 today, hypothetically speaking, that would mean that the delivery date would have been in mid-June 2024, so delivery date for your order, could be end of next year 2024 or beginning of 2025 - this is just an estimate"

Is this true as this seems to be a long time ..

If you'll excuse the vernacular, "bollocks to that". This isn't Covid-days any more and people aren't, in most cases, willing to wait a year with no delivery dates to get a bog-standard car.

The upshot is that there is no way I'd accept this today. Are there no stock / nearly stock cars floating around in the system that you could take?
