I've just started getting quotes for the V3 77Kw which is due in December. I am royally gobsmacked at the prices I've been quoted which range from £560 to £1106. My current car is a 2014 Peugeot RCZ R 270bhp which costs around £360 fully comp (£250 excess). I have a clean driving licence (36 years), no claims and over 20 years NCD. The car is kept on the drive.
Has anyone got suggestions on where to look for a reasonable quote?

You can thank Tesla for that silly price. With its one piece gigacasting chassis, they're an automatic write off with minimal damage following a shunt, and all EVs are paying the price. That's the main factor, other factors include lack of parts availability, tagging on a big courtesy car cost for the long wait and fear of battery damage following a moderate/major shunt, leading to potentially unnecessary replacement.

That price was for April - it could be a lot more than that if my renewal were due now.
Just one of the factors deterring BEV ownership right now:-
High insurance
High initial cost
High depreciation (Born fares better than most BEVs)
High cost of rapid charging

Mine doubled this year and I am raging about that. No reason given and I shopped about and it didn't get much cheaper.
I ended up having to pay monthly because it was so high.
It was something like £390 last year and over £780 this year (can't remember the exact figures)
Have you also noticed how ridiculous the excesses have got now.
