it is explained in the instructions manual and they name it Racestart.

Berlin just got a huge dump of snow over the last few days and to get any launch grip at all I had to use Range Mode. Even with winter tires!

These are by far the slipperiest conditions I've encountered so far. Makes me miss the AWD on my dad's 2018 Golf R
