Hi, My Born reverts to 7km per hour even if the dashboard tells me that I have 20km range left. Is this normal ? Just has caught me out a few times and would be good to know that one cannot go below 25km range . Thanks

As in limp mode? The lowest I've had mine down to was 6% battery and it made no difference to the way it drove.

I have run my battery down below 10% with no issues but not sure how low distance wise though. 20km could be as low as 4% and I have never got that low. If you have an owners manual might be worth seeing what it says.

From what I’ve seen on YouTube, it should go to 0% 0 range without problems, maybe 5 miles more after that you get the turtle sign and warnings for reduced power then a final warning. I believe at 0% there is actually 4% left in the battery.

I'm guessing without knowing what the battery % was but would have thought it may have been only 2% or 3% for 20kM of range depending on your normal driving consumption.
Lowest I've been in the Born and ID3s before it is 6% and found that acceleration was restricted.
From what Ponk has found your car doesn't sound right.

What was the percentage? And had it been sitting out in the cold and you just got into it?

In my experience, if it's below zero and you jump into it to go somewhere with 5%, you're really risking turtle mode because the power draw is so high when first heating the battery.

I've had mine down to 1% plenty of times en route to a rapid charger, it takes you down a lot in power, but no limit on speed exactly, just acceleration. That sounds wrong

On further thought, I remember hearing that cold temperature can give power issues when below 20% battery if starting at that temperature from a cold start, such as if it is left overnight, especially in low temperatures.

My scenario is quite different as it was driven from 100% - 1% at destination all in one trip so the battery would have been at least a toasty 0⁰C
