Hi.
I have a cupra as a company car and wasn't given the option for an extras. It's a 2023 plate.
Does not have heated seats.
Would separate heated seat cushions you power with a USC work or will I have issues with the electrics in the seat (ie On/Off controls). Has anyone tried a separate heated cushion pad?
Separate heated seat pads
I feel that pulling power from a USC connector to support the load of a seat heater pad sounds a bit of a stretch. Maybe from a 12v socket outlet but not ports intended for ordinary low power tech.
It's purely a guess but would have thought a seat heater has to be around 50 Watts. Thats around 4 Amps on a 12volt electrical supply. I can't see why a 12volt socket fed pad would be a problem but have no personal experience of them or where to purchase them.

The 12V cigarette lighter can deliver 180W while the drive system is engaged and 120W when not. It's connected to a 20A fuse (240W). The problem is that the cigarette lighter power port is way at the back.
The manual says that the rear (NOT FRONT!) USB PD ports have a 7.5A fuse, therefore theoretical maximum 90W - so my guess you can draw 65W from those ports.
Here's a crazy idea... get something like this for a 30W heated cushion:

It might have the heating element in and not be enabled in the software.
I know someone that has enabled heated seats in a VW using software plugged in to the OBD2 port.
