In that case, go with the photos above to get your switched live from the 12v socket fuse that's in its original ignition switched position.

Hi just to resurrect this thread.
I went into my local Halfrauds to see if they could hardwire my dashcam. I have always just run the cable down the A pillar and plugged into either a 12v socket or a USB socket, but as the Cupra has neither it's the hardwire option only.

Can you confirm the yellow 20 amp rear 12v socket fuse is not active once the ignition is switched off, please.
Halfrauds said they could not find a single fuse in the fuse box that turned off when the ignition is off🤔

Even the switched fuses stay on for a few minutes after the ignition is switched off and the car locked.

Going to going resurrect this again haha

I need a permanent live for ‘park mode’ on my NextBase 422 as I found out after it was installed.

This is the current setup, I’m a novice when it comes to this. Can anyone tell me what I need to do and what fuse/position to swap for a permanent live feed?

I haven't checked what you have already plugged in - presume it's a switched live?

Permanent live can be had from the 12v socket fuse. See that bright yellow 20A fuse right where your red wire starts? There's a prong hole below as the fuse can fit in 2 positions. It's currently plugged via prong hole 1 and 3 (switched). If you pull it out and plug back in lower, in prong holes 2 and 3, that fuse is now permanently live.

Hi all,
We are collecting a v1 for the wife next week. I will be fitting a front dashcam afterwards.

Can I just confirm - is the yellow 20a fuse the only switched live in there? I would rather piggyback on a fuse with a lower amp rating….anybody know of any?

Most of them are switched live, the yellow fuse can be a switched or permanent live, dependent on position (which 2 of the 3 prong holes you plug it into). The dashcam will have its own fuse. I've been running dashcams piggybacking in this way for 9 years and never popped a fuse yet.

Your hardwire kit should have its own fuse so whatever you're piggy backing off is frankly irrelevant

Ok thanks all.
I’ve used piggyback fuses lots when installing dashcams over the years, but I’ve always tried to match the rating on both sides of the piggyback.
