My car said a new update was available yesterday that it said fixed “errors” and something about making more information available about future over the air updates.
It only took about a minute to install but couldn’t find anything afterwards about the future updates…
Anyone else had this and know what it’s about?
New OTA update

Mine came up when I was driving and I installed it when I stopped. It just said the new features would be available the next time I started the car. Can see anything different though.
It should show up in the notifications section. That weird white icon on the top right. Tap that and scroll right to get to notifications

It's definitely not the 3.2 update. It's just a minor update which includes fixes that pave the way for a full on software update. It only took about 30 seconds to install, whereas a full version update takes a much longer time, possibly hours.Connolly wrote:My understanding is that this is Software version 3.2 per the ID3 forum

Interesting. If you look at the thread in the ID3 forum - what is the latest software version of newly manufactured ID3 you will see what various people were saying which led me to believe the recent short update was indeed 3.2. However short it was, it was a formal update so had to be specified by a formal revision number. If it's not 3.2 what number do you think it is?mluisbrown wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 6:21 pmIt's definitely not the 3.2 update. This little recent update is very minimal and probably in preparation of upcoming larger OTA updates.
A larger OTA update (for 3.X only) that among other things improves motor efficiency and affects the drivetrain / throttle response is starting to be rolled out in Germany. It takes about an hour for the update:
"Release Notes
With this update you can update the vehicle remotely, fix small system errors and improve driving operations. The following improvements can be achieved: Update of the pulse-controlled inverter to improve efficiency and consumption. During the first ride after the update, an automatic calibration may be carried out, which limits the performance to 30-40 km/h. When you reach this speed, you will feel a brief jerk. Once you let go of the gas pedal and accelerate again, the full driving performance is available to you. Installation of this update is required to enable future updates. If your vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft alarm system, it will be deactivated during the installation process. After the installation is complete, it will work again. This update does not increase the software version."
Not sure what to call this update as it doesn't update the infotainment but rather the subsystems.

Interesting. Let's see. But as an IT specialist, I do not really understand that "This update does not increase the software version"...but...anyway. Maybe kind of a patch, that just changes the build number.
