Hi everyone.

Coming from the ID4 l’m familiar with the electric system. I’m realistic about the range to expect. But can someone give me a rough idea of the range they’re getting in the UK? I’ve got a 58kwh v2 Quasar grey on its way next week.

Real range, based on a few scenarios:-

1. 0-3 Celcius, motorway driving, about 160 miles with no heating (brrr!) 100% down to 5%.

2. As per 1. With cabin heating to 16C, about 140 miles

3. 20+ Celsius, you could be up to 220 motorway miles 100% to 5% with a bit of aircon.

4. Around the doors expect about 250 miles in the Summer.

I have just been doing scenario 1 above, stopped for a charge at Trowell Services near Nottingham. 80 miles left to get to Milton Keynes!

TeslaBjorn on YouTube has the most comprehensive list of real world EV ranges where he actually drives each car he tests on a motorway circuit at 90kmh and 120kmh and from that calculates the real world range.

He only tested the Born in winter with a temp of around 3C with winter tyres and he managed 150 miles at 120kmh (74mph) and 207 miles at 90kmh (56mph). He tested the equivalent ID.3 (with the same 58kwh battery) a few times in the summer between 12-20C (he lives in Norway :D) and it got around 170 miles at 120kmh. I expect the Cupra to be about the same.

His calculations are based on running from 100% down to around 5% or less.

He keeps his test results on a Google Sheet that anyone can read here:

Check the "Range" sheet and the Born tests are rows 209 & 210

My 58kwh v2 is getting ~210 miles from 100% charge at the moment. Does anyone know how this compares in the current weather? I’m worried it’s looking on the low-side and if something is wrong with the car?

Efficiency depends a lot on ambient temp and the type of driving you do. Under 12C, and in the right circumstances, the battery warming will eat into your efficiency.

In the height of Summer, driving in an unenthusiastic manner away from the motorway, you might just hit that 260ish mile WLTP stated range. 210 miles in temperatures still dipping towards 0C is OK for right now. Low temps are a big negative influence on BEV range.

Pretty much the same as mine, which has actually been sub-200 for much of the winter. Looking forward to a bit of warmer weather!

We have a v2 58kw Born on loan while we wait for our 77kw variant. We travelled 180 miles (average speed around 54mph) three adults and fully loaded boot for a week long holiday. We left home with 100% and arrived at the destination after a 30% rapid charge with 39% left.. Looks like we achieved 3.6 miles per kwh. Not bad efficiency.
