Window demisting ?

OK I am told for best battery life, heat the person not the car, ie use seats/steering wheel.
All well and good, but if its cold outside the windows do fog up, the only way I know how to prevent this is turn the AC on, am I missing something ?

I believe that is the case, you could always turn the temperature down to 16 or so to save energy on heating
