Hi All,

I hadn't used my car for 8 days due to being laid up with the lurgy..

I ventured out for the first time this morning and thought I would do my weekly tyre pressure checks.

While doing this, I noticed that all 4 wheels had water collected in a small pool on the inside at the bottom of the wheel rim!!

Don't suppose it would be there had the car been driven, but just wondering if it could have any effect on the alloy if left for too long?

Not sure if this is only a thing with the V2 wheels?

I just wondered if anyone else had noticed?

I don't know about the Born wheels, but my current car (Golf) has open silver alloys that really show up any dirt. There isn't usually a problem with the barrels but if I've been driving in the wet a lot of muddy water gathers in the rim groove outside the spokes. It's never been a problem to clean off, although I do use Valet Pro Bilberry wheel cleaner that does a great job of breaking down the mud and brake dust that sets like glue, especially on the front wheels. It then gets washed off with the pressure washer.
I wouldn't expect the Born wheels will be any different.

Most alloy wheels have a "gutter" like this behind the spokes, and water collection while stationary is normal/unavoidable.

Yeah. Pretty normal. Spray them with a wheel cleaner and wipe with a set of wheel woolies to clean it off. It won't cause any damage.
