If you’re concerned about the charging commencing before the schedule is created, you can press stop charge on the main screen or Cupra App.Daveion wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 8:32 am After weeks of trying to get onto IOGO I eventually succeeded yesterday.
I can't explain why it was so difficult but think it could be because ar the time of undertaking the test charge and going from stage to stage in the Octopus app you have to maintain an unbroken connection at critical points of data transfer between Octopus, PodPoint (in my case) and Cupra. Once I reached that stage finally Octopus carried out a "test connection" and the tariff in the app changed immediately to IOGO.
I think another part of the problem for those experiencing difficulty is that you have no idea at each stage what the app response should be. Does it take 24 hours to move over or minutes?
I found once all the ducks were in a row it took minutes including the test charge and test connection.
It would definitely benefit from some kind of video tutorial so users knew what to expect.
My 2 biggest issues were that if a stage failed there was just a black hole and you were unaware if the switch to IOGO was in progress and the other was that Octopus help desk were not knowledgeable on the tariff and how to get there. One Octo said they could see my test charge and then went onto explain how my solar output would integrate with the grid....... I don't have solar panels said I.
I charged last night via Octopus and was pleased with the result.
I received notification of the how the charge would be scheduled in 5 hits between 2330hrs and 0530hrs in the Octopus app.
My only concern at the moment is that when I first plug the car in it charges immediately. Octopus say this is normal and that once the charge schedule is produced the charge would stop until the correct scheduled time. I left mine for maybe 45 minutes like that charging at peak rate and went to the car to stop the charge. I don't know if that's a glitch.
It doesn't matter if Octopus charge you at the IOGO rate for that period at peak times but until I can trust it 100% I wasn't prepared to take the chance.
One other point is that getting the data on the car up via Octopus, Cupra, Trinity, or PodPoint now takes an age. My guess is everything is routed via Octopus servers maybe?????
Anyway, just glad I've managed the switch.

Third update:
I finally had a successful IOGo charge on Thursday 26th at 23:30.
Zappi settings: Fast
Octopus settings: Charge to 80%. IOGo provided the charging plan 23:30-00:00, 03:30-04:00, 04:30-05:00. All three charges maxed out at 7.6 KW as expected.
Cupra Born settings: Charge to 90%. Preferred charging time set to 23:30 - 05:30.
I used the car this morning, plugged it in on my return and there was a short charge for a few minutes and then it stopped, presumably waiting for the overnight plan.

We had solar + battery installed at the beginning of the month and it has taken ‘til now to figure out a satisfactory way to charge both the Cupra Born and the solar battery during the Octopus Go cheap period:
Solar Battery: Set the inverter charge time to start at 00:30hrs and finish at 04:30hrs.
Cupra: Set the ‘Preferred Charge Time’ to start at 00:35hrs and finish at 04:25hrs so that the car starts charging after the inverter and finishes before it (if still charging at 04:25).
Set the preferred charge level. When reached the car will stop charging and the inverter will continue until either the solar battery is 100% charged or it runs out of time at 04:30.
This works best on short HVB charging times which is fine for us as we only use 10% to 30% of the car ‘s charge most days. So far the solar battery has always reached full charge before 04:30.

That's my next task once the IO Go is stable. What make of inverter do you have?

I plugged in at 5:20pm and the car charged immediately and continued so I stopped it via the app after 18 minutes. Octopus confirmed that any charge before the schedule starts is at peak rate. They also said some chargers don't respond to the stop charge; as seems to be the case with my particular PodPoint Solo. Interestingly I received the Octopus planned schedule notification seconds after plugging in. Overall very happy so far.

Hi all,
Just managed to setup the IO-GO with our V2 Born using Ohme Pro charger, all seems good sofar just need to
monitor upcoming charges to check all is as expected...

I have been on IOGO for 5days now and 2 of the scheduled charges have failed because the PodPoint RCBO has tripped. I don't know if that is coincidence or the car doesn't like charging to Stop/Start causing a spike.
Any ideas or similar experiences.

My tips for IO + Ohme Pro + Cupra
Ensure no charging schedule set in the CAR
Set a charging schedule in OHME, something like "reach 80% by 7am". Have this set for everyday.
Set the charge target in the CAR to be higher than the OHME. If you set them the same you will get warnings from the OHME because the CAR will stop charging immediately at the CAR target and OHME won't yet realise the target is reached because it only polls the car periodically.
If the charge begins as soon as you plug your car in don't worry. This is because Octopus have allocated a cheap slot outside of 2330 to 0530.
The cost of charge sessions in the OHME app are not accurate until the charge is complete.
