I have completed the test charge 3 times now and am dealing with an Octopus Team Manager who has asked for screen shots of the App and progress. They don't know what's going wrong.
Daft questions
I've looked for a specific IO app but there isn't one right?
The test charge requires the location to be visible. If I can locate my car with the Cupra app its presumably visible? Or am I missing something!
Any help would be appreciated.

There isn’t a specific IO app, it’s part of the Octopus app. I can’t help much with this as the Ohme doesn’t use it but you need to click on the devices icon circled. If you don’t have that you can click on the account icon in the top left, then devices and you can mange / add devices from there:
Thanks, it's a start. I don't have the option of devices in my app at the bottom but it is there in the account. I'm on Android 11 and it's the latest Octopus version from Google play.
When I select devices I get a near blank black screen ready to scan a QR code. I have entered the Car and charger details through the portal several times but never required a QR code. I am going to try the test charge again this morning. The 4th time. Octopus have confirmed they can see previous tests.

I’m guessing you can scan the QR code that comes up on the infotainment… though I can’t remember how to get it to show up.

I've recently tried to switch over to Intelligent Octopus but am not getting very far.
I set it all up as the app instructs but I just get this error immediately after clicking the "Start my switch" button.

I've sent this all as a support email but got no reply.
Anyone else seeing the same issue?
I only joined Octopus two weeks ago so maybe I need to wait a bit longer?

I empathise with you Born1978
I can't get a straight answer from anyone at Octopus. I didn't get as far as you.
I sense there is a problem though, maybe it's become oversubscribed. I carried out 2 further test charges today but that's as far as I get, no failure message, no acknowledgement. My Go Tariff has expired so I'm stuck on Flexible Octopus until something gives.
May give E-ON a look see.

I posted earlier about switching from E.on to Intelligent Octopus. Initially, the only option I was offered was Flexible so that's what I'm on now.
I have also asked (about two weeks ago) for a switch to IO and also Outgoing Octopus for solar surplus output.
So far, the Outgoing has progressed to the point where I should be getting paid for output starting in a day or two. The IO request is, I think, progressing since I have been asked for a meter reading for the switch, but no actual confirmation yet.
I haven't had any e-mails or messages, but I keep track of updates by logging on to my account at Octopus and scrolling down past the tariff information to see the details of my tariffs and metering. It's very comprehensive. There's also a link to the new Beta page which has fully detailed info about usage, output, etc. Give that try.

I've got it working now. I found a suggestion on Reddit to set it up via the website so I tried that instead. It got me so far then told me to use the app.
This time when I opened the app I could see that it had set me up and was inviting me to do a test charge. I did this and after a few failed attempts it worked and I got a confirmation email from Octopus.
I then left my car plugged in overnight and it charged to 80% in two different time periods exactly as specified.

Happy to join the Intelligent Octopus club!

I was also trying to switch from octopus go to intelligent with but much luck via the app. Kept getting faults like the previous posters. I then followed their advice to do it via the octopus webpage and then the app and bingo, it worked. Cheers for the advice 👍🏻
First charge up to 80% last night and pretty trouble free, so will see how I get on.

Update on my switch from Flexible Octopus to Intelligent Octopus Go and Outgoing Octopus.

I applied for Outgoing Octopus through the website. I supplied an updated meter reading and the tariff was set up within a couple of days. To my (pleasant) surprise, it looks like the payments have been backdated to the time I joined Octopus at the end of September, so I have been credited with £0.73 as at 2 October for about 2 days input.

I had applied for IO earlier but nothing had happened, and the customer service suggested that I apply again through the website for IO Go.
I did that and the Born and my Zappi charger were approved as compatible. I was then directed to download the app to my phone and finish the setup there. Part of this setup is to run a test charge and for this I had make sure that no other application/device was controlling the charging process. I had to fiddle around with the Zappi to stop the charging and stop the routines on the Born. Once this was done, the test charge went ahead without any hiccups and the IO Go was all set up. I'll check tomorrow to see if the scheduled IO charge has gone ahead as expected.

So far, so good.

Further update:

After setting everything up and after the successful test charge, nothing has happened.
I contacted Octopus and they have acknowledged the problem. Over the weekend and on Monday and Tuesday I have checked the settings but no automatic charging. If I disconnect/reconnect the car it simply starts a full charge immediately so I have to stop the charge at the Zappi. Octopus have been kept aware of the status and have escalated to technical support.

After weeks of trying to get onto IOGO I eventually succeeded yesterday.
I can't explain why it was so difficult but think it could be because ar the time of undertaking the test charge and going from stage to stage in the Octopus app you have to maintain an unbroken connection at critical points of data transfer between Octopus, PodPoint (in my case) and Cupra. Once I reached that stage finally Octopus carried out a "test connection" and the tariff in the app changed immediately to IOGO.
I think another part of the problem for those experiencing difficulty is that you have no idea at each stage what the app response should be. Does it take 24 hours to move over or minutes?
I found once all the ducks were in a row it took minutes including the test charge and test connection.
It would definitely benefit from some kind of video tutorial so users knew what to expect.
My 2 biggest issues were that if a stage failed there was just a black hole and you were unaware if the switch to IOGO was in progress and the other was that Octopus help desk were not knowledgeable on the tariff and how to get there. One Octo said they could see my test charge and then went onto explain how my solar output would integrate with the grid....... I don't have solar panels said I.
I charged last night via Octopus and was pleased with the result.
I received notification of the how the charge would be scheduled in 5 hits between 2330hrs and 0530hrs in the Octopus app.
My only concern at the moment is that when I first plug the car in it charges immediately. Octopus say this is normal and that once the charge schedule is produced the charge would stop until the correct scheduled time. I left mine for maybe 45 minutes like that charging at peak rate and went to the car to stop the charge. I don't know if that's a glitch.
It doesn't matter if Octopus charge you at the IOGO rate for that period at peak times but until I can trust it 100% I wasn't prepared to take the chance.
One other point is that getting the data on the car up via Octopus, Cupra, Trinity, or PodPoint now takes an age. My guess is everything is routed via Octopus servers maybe?????
Anyway, just glad I've managed the switch.
