Hi all, new to group, new to the EV world. But after waiting for months decided to take the jump. VZ inbound in a few weeks.
Had to get the panoramic roof as it was the only one left In stock to beat the tax rise.
Heard it’s heavier with this so affects the battery. Also couldn’t really see any pictures of a VZ with a panoramic roof?
Thoughts from any owners?
Thanks
Incoming - Panoramic roof -🔥🔥
I have a panoramic roof - by choice!
I think you may have a few things mixed up there.
As it's heavier it may affect the performance but not the battery as such.
When the Born came out in the UK you couldn't order the big battery with the panoramic roof as it made the car too heavy but that isn't the case anymore and I believe it wasn't ever the case outside the UK. Not sure if that has something to do with what you've heard.

Not this old chestnut again. This used to surface repeatedly on the Golf R forum in reference to affecting the handling. Let's face it, if you are driving so fast on public roads that you are approaching the limits of adhesion then you are a nutter and ought to be banned. Normal sane drivers will never notice the difference.
As far as impact on battery range, I can't comment but in percentage terms I suspect he increased weight is unlikely to have a significant effect.
Personally I always specc'd a pano roof on my Golf s because they tilted open and they made the interior brighter. The pano roof on the Born doesn't open and it starts so far back from the front seating positions that you can't actually see out of it. You have to be in the rear seats for that, so I won't have one if I buy another Born.
But you've got one anyway so you'll be able to make your own mind up.

I have the panoramic roof on my March 2023 car and I love it. I chose it. As far as impact on performance or battery it's negligible. I haven't tested it against a car without, but the range I get from my Born is pretty much as expected. I really like the roof. There's a lot more light in the cabin. It's true that only people in the rear seats can really see out of it easily, but I would order it again. IMO it also makes the car look a lot better.
Minus points for the roof are: it can make the car quite hot in the summer sun, even with the shade closed.
