Cupra are offering me the free ohme charger I will probably go for the pro version which has a tethered cable. I'm thinking of having this installed in the garage so I can charge indoors or out. So what I'd like to know is what people think is the best ev tariffs to go for. I do have solar panels so they may help
Also what if any provider do you use for charging at fast chargers around UK? Thx
I recommend Intelligent Octopus Go (IOGo). It can cause a but of frustration while setting it up but once it settles down it's cheap and works well.
Since you have solar panels, there are a couple of issues you need to be aware of when IOGo schedules charging (at the low-rate tariff) during what would normally be high tariff times.
There's a bunch of good information in other threads like here: viewtopic.php?t=1120. Once you past the initial problem posts, there's positive info in the later posts.
If you go with Octopus, here are some relevant notes:

Thanks for the info I am already an octopus customer so was planning on using them for EV tariffs. I have requested installation of a smart meter as I gather this is a requirement however a few years ago another supplier said they couldn't fit one as the company who installed my solar panels had fitted some of their stuff in the meter box and he didn't have enough space. Hopefully this isn't still the case if not I will need to contact the solar company who owns the solar system. Which brings me to another question if octopus normally pay you if you export electricity this shouldn't apply to me as the solar company get the government feeding tariff in return I got the free panels. I just hope I will get the reduced ev usage rate. Will probably need to speak with octopus when the smart meter installer has been.
