I think we'll never get this feature
Looks like new OTA update coming soon...
We're talking 40-50 (!) modules depending on the installed options:mluisbrown wrote: βSat Oct 19, 2024 4:02 pmI realise that, but in that case the System Information screen should have a way to show the versions of each subsystem and, ideally, the date last updated.Elea4 wrote: βSat Oct 19, 2024 4:41 am In principal it doesn't make sense - but only if you treat it like a monolithic software package, which it isn't. The MEB platform is a sprawling decentralized system. That's why you use an OBDII dongle to query the subsystem versions to know exactly what's installed.
Or it could display the updates that have been installed (eg OUI6, OUJ4 etc) and when they were installed. What the user sees now is basically meaningless.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that dates and versions for all of that would be inscrutable and virtually meaningless for most almost all users.
As I've said before, if the user cares that much, then just buy a 20-30 euro OBD II adapter and connect it to CarScanner.

Fair enough
Regarding something else you said:
"My sources claim this will be the last major update (3.7) for all 3.x Borns."
Is this limitation due to the fairly low powered hardware in the ICAS3 unit, or are there other factors involved? Basically my question is, if you could replace the ICAS3 unit with a more recent one, it could in theory handle the later versions, or is it not just that unit, but all the others involved?

Someone in Spain just received OUL9 OTA. This is the first report I know of and matches up with Cupra reps stating the rollout would begin KW46:
https://www.born-forum.de/forum/thread/ ... #post79033
Their software version is now 1751.
So that brings us to this - some of which is guesswork and not official mind you:
[EDIT]
0796 = 2.3
0333 = 3.0
0561 = 3.1/3.2/3.4
1701 = 3.5
1731 = 3.5.1?
1741 = 3.5.1?
1751 = 3.5.2
[/EDIT]
(3.7 is EOL according to VW - and 3.5 according to Cupra. They did however promise 10y of security patches but these don't qualify as version updates)
On the MeinID forums, those who have received 3.7 OTA have reported that there are no more audio dropouts with Beats!

There is a hack if you use OBDEleven where you can preheat the battery so it is possible

Is this a hack that adds a pre-heating option to the menu, or can you only kick it off using OBDEleven?

I edited my earlier post with some new info.
According to Cupra, their version 3.5.2 is equivalent to VW/Skoda's 3.7
There are supposedly only a few differences between Cupra vs VW/Skoda's End-of-Life software versions: Reversing camera, antenna, ICAS1, ICAS3.
I'm still trying to find out what's up with the ABT s/w versions. MY2023/2024 Borns shipped with ABT 6091 but the first person who posted about receiving the OUL9 3.5.2 OTA showed ABT 6085.
Why is this of note? Because ABT 6091 was supposed to remove the display's so-called "Component Protection" in order to speed up the interface reaction times. As usual everything is a confusing mystery.

Will a car running v3.2 get upgraded at a dealer to 3.4/3.5.x etc or does that only run on the newer hardware? Car is booked in for its 2 year service tomorrow and will also be asking them to apply all available software updates. Last time I spoke to them (in April) they told me my car had v3.2 and that was the latest version and it wasn't showing an update was available (car is November 2022).
Also got a list of other things for them to fix while they have it too:
1. New settings message (TPI 2068408)
2. Randomly changing climate settings
3. Interior lighting always changing back to orange
4. Steering wheel vibration when turning. (TPI 2069354/1)
5. Failed puddle lights

3.5.x is compatible with pre-2025 model-year Borns. Software version 5.x is for all 2025 Borns and uses different hardware.rogeranderson wrote: βTue Nov 26, 2024 9:39 pm Will a car running v3.2 get upgraded at a dealer to 3.4/3.5.x etc or does that only run on the newer hardware? Whether your dealer will upgrade it or not is up to their discretion. I've heard of a few recent cases where the dealership did it, but frankly it seems unlikely.
Technically we're all waiting on OUL9 3.5.2 as an OTA as of KW46 - well, except for one person in Spain that posted about receiving it.
I read that if the OUL9 OTA update fails, then the dealership can manually install it and it's then called 3.5.3.
