Looks like new OTA update coming soon...
You're not going to get 1701 as OTA. AFAIK that was only from the factory.
What all of us with pre -MY2025 Borns are waiting for is update OUL9 aka 3.5.2 which will be displayed on the infotainment unit at 1751 and is supposedly coming only as OTA. Keep in mind these updates will update many different control units, so the displayed software version, eg. 1751, represents the aggregate update.

Dropped off today and they said it was due a software update.....to 3.2 (which it's already on?). So I'll see what it comes back with when they have actually updated it.Elea4 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 7:56 am3.5.x is compatible with pre-2025 model-year Borns. Software version 5.x is for all 2025 Borns and uses different hardware.rogeranderson wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 9:39 pm Will a car running v3.2 get upgraded at a dealer to 3.4/3.5.x etc or does that only run on the newer hardware? Car is booked in for its 2 year service tomorrow and will also be asking them to apply all available software updates. Last time I spoke to them (in April) they told me my car had v3.2 and that was the latest version and it wasn't showing an update was available (car is November 2022).
Whether your dealer will upgrade it or not is up to their discretion. I've heard of a few recent cases where the dealership did it, but frankly it seems unlikely.
Technically we're all waiting on OUL9 3.5.2 as an OTA as of KW46 - well, except for one person in Spain that posted about receiving it.
I read that if the OUL9 OTA update fails, then the dealership can manually install it and it's then called 3.5.3.
They gave me a 2024 Born loan car, it appears to be running 3.5.x (software 1741). On a limited play on my drive home doesn't seem to be much better in any noticeable way. Hoping they may have improved responsiveness but guess you need the MY2025 hardware for that. So guess as long as they can fix some of the software niggles whether they do any major update now is probably not much of a concern.

They also told me they cannot install the OTA updates.
That's correct. However, there are more or less equivalent software versions that can alternatively be installed in the workshop. As I mentioned, if 3.5.2 OTA fails to install correctly, then the workshop can install 3.5.3.rogeranderson wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 4:14 pm They also told me they cannot install the OTA updates.
Here's the catch: most workshops when looking through the VW software distribution server will need a specific SVM code, aka "Software Versions Management" - and it's not going to be referred to as 3.5.3.
