Hi all,

I'm eyeing up a Born on our salary sacrifice scheme at work. It's decently specced and a bit of a bargain compared to PCP, but I wanted to check if there were any options that I should avoid, or definitely spec, before signing on the dotted line for this particular car. I wanted to get an iX1 but SWMBO said it was too big.

Born V3 77kWh
Vapor Grey
20" Blizzard alloys
Aurora Blue Dinamica interior
Dynamic Pack
Beats Audio

No Tech or Pilot pack, but I can't see any deal breaking options in those.

Main queries I have are around the wheels and the interior. I stopped by a dealer and they had zero cars with either option, and I'm struggling to find real pics of the blue interior outside of the CGI configurator. Anybody specced the blue interior and have any feedback? WRT the wheels, how harsh is the ride, and presumably they're kerb magnets? My missus is inextricably drawn to kerbs, so we'd probably have to fit alloy gators or something similar!

Can't really argue with your choices, as for the colour, maybe YT videos would show it well? Mine are grey so can't help.

Seats are very comfortable and if electrical adjustable (is that part of seat pack or a tech pack?) then it's very easy to adjust to your position, no memory function though.

As for alloys and kerbs, dead on! Can't comment on the ride, I have the 20" MSP tyres as I liked the look and the roads here are supper smooth. If I was in the UK, I would probably have went with an alloy/tyre combo that had a larger side wall profile to help deal with the road surface there.

Why would you go Aurora Blue interior and Battleship Grey exterior? For me, V3 over V2 is doesn't give you much extra unless you really need those electric seats. The 20" ride is a little harsh on our crap UK roads and the V2 alloys are the best looking of the bunch IMO.

It's the only one currently available in stock on our work scheme, I didn't spec it. I think it's a cancelled order, so it's priced lower than a factory V2. I found a pic of the blue interior on a grey car on Autotrader, and it's quite a dusky blue so I think it still works with the grey exterior....

I have the blue interior and I really like it. I wasn’t sure whether the electric seats were worth it when I ordered but I’m so happy I got them. They also have the pull out “thigh extension” that BMW sports seats have which I have so missed since my last BMW.

Looks great! I've bitten the bullet and ordered the car in my initial post, looking forward to joining the family.

I've seen mixed reviews about the beats audio, so I might look into swapping out the stock speakers if they don't hit the spot.

I bought my car having never seen the blue interior in person and now I think the grey looks bland! It's not 'in yer face' blue or anything like you'd see in a BMW or Porsche as it's a lot more subtle that that. Definitely right on a blue car, and I don't think it'll look out of place on the grey either. I like it and no-one has ever commented on it negatively - and believe me, my mates would!!!

As for the tech pack - you may miss the phone charging pad as I think that is not included otherwise. I don't recall what else it has but worth checking online.

Edit: I meant to add, Beats is pretty good - it's not audiophile quality but as in-car systems go , I think it's worth having especially over the standard set up which on earlier cars didn't have rear speakers.
