Hi 👋

Joined a few days ago and already participated in some threads, but thought I'd do the proper intro. I'm originally from the UK (although half German 😃), but have now lived in Portugal for 22 years.

Got my Born last week after having waited since February 2022. The car I ordered was simply never getting a production date and I was getting a bit annoyed with the dealer, who said that the importer here (SIVA) couldn't tell them why my car wasn't getting produced. They found me a car close to what I had ordered that no longer had a buyer and I accepted it. The options I had requested but aren't on the substitute car were Pilot L (top view camera and Travel Assist) and the AR HUD. OTOH this car has the 19" Copper wheels and the "Dinamica" electric seats over the 18" wheels and normal seats I had ordered.

Now that I've driven it a bit I think I prefer this car actually. Not missing Travel Assist or the AR HUD tbh, and the electric seats are *so* comfortable.

My only WTF? moment was when I realised that the car doesn't have rear speakers 😮 I thought that was standard on all new cars these days...I guess not. I have seen the threads about retrofitting those but unless I can find a professional to do the installation I don't think I want to risk it, maybe damaging the doors or breaking too many clips.

I noticed the car doesn't have a spare tyre or a sealant kit. I have the 19" Contis, might buy a sealant kit just in case, as I don't really fancy having to wait for assistance if I have a puncture.

Hi 👋, Portugal eh, I'm currently reading a book called "Moving to Portugal made simple", would be nice.

That's a long time to wait for your car, hopefully it'll be worth it, should be in good shape running the latest 3.2 version of the sofware. Like the sound of white paintwork with blue interior, interspersed with copper. Plenty of contrasts compared to mine, which is all rather shades of grey in comparison! Do you have any photos?

Hi mluisbrown and welcome to the forum.
No rear speakers rattles a lot of owners. We are all different and it doesn't bother me. I rarely have any music on at all.
Do you have a blue interior? Not seen that before.
I thought all Borns were black!

Blue interior was an exaggeration on my part @daveion, think it’s blue seats, maybe door cards

The seats, centre console and door armrests (the soft part) and the area behind the steering wheel are all a sort of grey blue colour. Should be able to see in the interior photo.

Nice. The blue'ish grey looks like the colour of some of trim in my UK Born standard set up.
No green bar on the number plate?

I had to look up what you meant by that 😄 The green bar for EVs is just a UK thing. In Portugal there's no distinction on the number plate for EVs.
