Im taking my car into Cupra Bromley on March the 11th about this click that I still get when braking but more accurately as the car comes to a halt under braking. Its been a while since anyone posted on this thread and wondered if anyone else had any updates? I m hoping to be able to test drive it with a technician to make sure they pick the fault up correctly.
There was mention as well of a TPI / recall? But not seen anything on that either.
Thanks
Dave

Hi. Did this get fixed on your second visit please? My click has come back 2 weeks after car returned. They said it was fixed when went in during November but only just got car back after battery recall. Thanks.

Hi all,

We've had this same problem with our Born but finally discovered that there is Cupra TPI: TPI 2067682/5

After fobbing us off with the problem being 'a stick stuck somewhere', we went into the dealer and finally got them to reveal the root of the problem.

The clicking noise is due to play in the outer CV joint, where the bearings are not machined to tight enough tolerances and thus at low speeds, changes of load produce a clicking noise as the bearings re-seat. The VW group fix at the moment is to take the clamps off of the CV boot and inject what appears to be Loctite red into the CV joint, allow to cure for 6 hours and then re-assemble. This has been deployed on the ID.3 platform since 2021 according to the service manager we spoke to today.

The Loctite appears to take up the slack in the poorly toleranced CV joint bearings. What will this do the wear in the joint in the long term? Why can't VW just replace with a better made CV joint?! Anyway, use that TP reference - it does exist!

Thanks for that info.
My click has returned having been absent for 3 or 4 months. I'll get it raised on my 2 year service next month 👍

Been having the same "clicking" noise since a few months now.. after several visits to the garage they still can't seem to find the source of the issue.. I will try to mention the TPI 2067682/5 to cupra and have them contact the garage to apply this for me..
I also notice a vibration at around 90km/h.. does anyone if this is related to this issue?
