The red dots are infra red sensors - not visible to the naked eye, but can appear in camera shots

Also you can see the red dots on the sliders, why can these light up lol
1731 is already outdated and the latest version is now 1741. There was some kind of bug with the wifi.

I'm pretty sure this is the brand new TPI for it. I don't know if this will be available as OTA or not:

Appears to be a workshop update only at this time for 1731 >1741 - no mention of OTA

Hi phope,

I see your post says you are in NE Scotland. Did you get this done at Aberdeen? I've been meaning to book mine in to get rid of annoying "apply updates" message. Interested to know if they are installing this if booked in for an update. The Cupra website still indicates 3.2.1 is the latest.

Thanks,
Roger

No, I've not enquired about it with the dealer. Will leave it until any problems actually appear :D

So I decided to book my car in for the software upgrade using the Cupra website which allowed me to book a date and a time. Took my car in this week and they had no record of the booking. I had received an email to confirm the "request" but apparently the garage were not informed and indicated that I had not received confirmation from them. After venting my frustration that an end user can't be expected to know an additional confirmation was necessary, coupled with the fact other dealers successfully operate an online booking system that works in the way expected, they admitted I wasn't the first person that had been caught out with this.

Lesson learnt - call the dealer

Anyway, on to the software update. They told me at the garage my car wasn't showing as having outstanding software upgrade needed so I asked them to confirm what software I was on. They called back later in the day and said I was on the latest version 3.2.0. I said their own website has shown that 3.2.1 has been the latest since July 2023 and it actually advises booking the car in for an upgrade, but they said it's not showing as available for my car.

The management of the car software is essentially a joke.

I wonder if the software release depends also in the region.

I’m in Ireland and so far no recall for this software and mine came out from the dealer with 1701 and no pending updates neither from dealer POV nor in the system.

Very strange way to manage.

It's not a recall, it's a service bulletin. 1701 is later than 3.2.1 so there's nothing to install
