For Cupra, the overarching software versions have so far been 2.4, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2. These are usually reflected in the ICAS3 infotainment unit.ChrisDWGHLS wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 10:28 am Interesting. Let's see. But as an IT specialist, I do not really understand that "This update does not increase the software version"...but...anyway. Maybe kind of a patch, that just changes the build number.
However it gets murky between 3.1 and 3.2 because in 3.2, ICAS3 didn't get updated and it still shows software version 0561 - although various subsystems did.
So keep in mind that unlike Tesla, the MEB platform doesn't run a heavily centralized system whereby the "main" software version can be simply gleaned by looking at what the infotainment unit states.
There are a lot of ways to look at this: just because the navi gets updated maps monthly doesn't mean the infotainment should report a new version number for itself.
Likewise, some updates like this short one were simultaneously delivered to 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 Borns and those don't fall under the rubrik of a major version-changing software update.
As a software dev, if one of the external libraries your software relies on gets updated but your main application stays the same, that shouldn't necessarily lead to a version number change, right?
