Hi. Any help please? Has always been a problem but now a dark commute it's more annoying. The footwell light somehow reflects into the drivers door mirror. I've tried to reduce footlights intensity from the interior settings menu. However it only seems to dim the dashboard. Manual seems to say the light should dim when moving but doesn't seem to. Any tricks please?
Thanks

Found this in the manual:
Footwell lighting
The lights in the footwell area below the dash
(driver and front passenger sides) will switch on
when the doors are opened and will decrease
in brightness while driving. This brightness can
be adjusted through the infotainment system
menu using the function button > Background lighting ›››

I’ve had a similar issue with reflections from footwell lights, and it can be pretty annoying, especially when driving at night. The interior light settings in my car only dim the dashboard too, not the footwell. What helped me was adjusting the footwell light manually if possible, or even using a little black tape to block some of the light from reflecting. You could also check if your car has a "night mode" or a reset option that could help with this, but it might just be a case of finding the right balance with the settings.

You can turn them off through the settings on the infotainment system, one of the first things I did when I got the car

Thanks Blackeunos. Knowing it was possible I persisted. For anyone elseBlackeunos wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 8:02 am You can turn them off through the settings on the infotainment system, one of the first things I did when I got the car
Interior settings
Background Lighting
Choose Individual
Edit
Choose Brightness
Select the light bulb over the footwell
Turn it down to zero.
You can't change the colour in the footwell only the brightness so at first you don't realise you can turn it down.
Little improvements all the time
Never heard of that before. Have you tried adjusting the mirror itself? Sometimes a slight angle change can make a big difference in reflections. If not, maybe a piece of black tape (carefully placed!) on the inside of the footwell light housing might help block the reflection.

I suspect its a factor of my height and preferred seat height. You see the brake pedal chrome reflection. Now I've learned how to turn off the footwell it's fixed and didnt need to go to the black tape option.
