Re: Range issues during cold snap

I got a bit caught out yesterday. Decided to charge for a long trip before I left rather than overnight to warm the battery up and it spectacularly backfired. My Ohme decided to play up and wouldn’t connect to the internet so cost 30p/kWh instead of 7.5p as it couldn’t talk to Octopus. But even wors...

Re: Range issues during cold snap

I have a similar issue, just charged to 80% and it was showing something like 180 miles, I unplugged and drove off and it's immediately dropped to 80 miles. It's a v2 58kw and I've only had it one week, this was my first time charging it. I'm pretty sure it dropped considerably last week and I didn...

Re: Heated Steering Wheel

Hi all, I noticed that there is a setting that enables the heated steering wheel to heat up when you start the car when "below a certain temperature". Does anyone know what this "certain temperature" is? Honestly, how are VAG allowed to release such poorly defined parameters lol...

Re: Range issues during cold snap

140 miles on a full charge for a 58kWh at temps around zero is about all you'll get for motorway miles (70mph cruising). Battery warming for around 20 miles has a huge drain on the battery, and cabin heating the whole journey has a big hit too. Long distance BEV driving in Winter with rapid charges...

Re: Would you have another Born?

Thank you both for your replies. It’s a shame that VAG appear to have got their Golf sized ev’s so wrong and really expensive! I do think the Born looks really nice though. Everything on my 2019 GTI works perfectly. So I guess it sounds like I’ll be frustrated with most ev’s from a software point o...

Re: Would you have another Born?

I like the Born but wouldn’t buy another one or any electric VAG group car again. This car has been back for recalls and faults more than the previous 7 new cars I’ve owned combined. The software is terrible, the safety features line lane assist and front assist are terrible. I actually get nervous ...

Re: Water in the boot!

Hi new to the forum, I am experiencing the same issue with my Born V1. Did you managed to get this sorted with your local dealership? I have mine booked into for the re-calls so will have them look at this too. I got them to look at it the last time it was in but they have booked it in again as the...

Re: Battery Issues?

There must be something wrong with the car unless you had the cabin temperature at 30c and were doing 100 mph with 4 passengers driving into a headwind. Now the weather has gotten a bit cooler I’m getting about 90 miles from 60% battery at worst. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it charge at less than 40k...

Re: Windscreen doesn't demist fully

For those of you experiencing this issue are you absolutely sure that you have the air conditioning compressor switched on and operating? The Born is confusing in that the climate control master switch on the upper left of the climate menu is labelled "air conditioning". Logically if it i...

Re: Windscreen doesn't demist fully

Mines the same. I’ve found wiping it with a microfibre cloth after it’s demisted the worst of it works for a couple of days and then I have to do it again!
