Re: Lane Assist - remembering the previous setting!

A month in I still don’t find the lane assist annoying. Like most modern safety features you can either allow it to irritate you, or accept it’s there in the background to assist if you ever need it. Oddly my 2023 fiesta ST defaults to lane assist off with a 1 button press to switch it on after sta...

Re: Has this fallen off my car?

Yep, check the trim on the inside of the tailgate. Never seen one fall out, should push home with a click, as it looks like a tab should engage around the narrow neck of the plug.

Re: Lane Assist - remembering the previous setting!

I found my OBD11, so if anyone is in the North Tyneside area who wants theirs set to remember last setting (off means off) then let me know.

Re: Lane Assist - remembering the previous setting!

I really don't get all the hate for lane assist. I leave it on all the time and only very rarely do I have to override it. It's an extra safety backup, especially on motorways. It also forces me to use my indicators when switching lanes which I like. I had grown used to not indicating for lane swit...

Re: Preparing for delivery of Born

Agreed on its use as a short term stop gap if you don't have a home charger yet, but intend to get one.

Re: Preparing for delivery of Born

I traded my Born in yesterday 🙁 (I got a lemon as far as I’m concerned so will refrain from slagging the Born off) but the car I bought comes with a granny cable but not a type 2. I expected the opposite so nabbed my type 2 just before handing the car over and have a spare granny cable! To be hones...

Re: Massive battery recall check - TPI 93Q2

The January 10th edition of Autocar magazine has the article about our battery repair issue. See below:Born-battery-issue.jpg Unless they can’t make new ones on the production line then they really don’t have an excuse. They're taking the paste! You would expect VAG to allow the use of equivalent a...

Re: Interior Quality

Ok let me ask you it in a different way. Say you didn't own the car and it was a family members. You were in their car sat in the back seats. Now knowing what the quality it like in the rear, how would you feel? Disappointed? I think you'll be disappointed with a lot of cars with your point of view...

Re: Interior Quality

I would say the interior quality of a Gold and Born wouldn't be the main reason I would choose between the cars, unless it's an PHEV Golf? Have you had a chance or can arrange to sit in a Born or test drive one? If you have never driven an EV, the experience is very unique so this can sell the car ...

Re: Preparing for delivery of Born

In Europe at least, the car comes with a standard charging cable, roughly 6.5m and a 3 pin emergency backup with a very long lead, I’ve never checked the exactly length. Someone in the UK can confirm if it’s the same there. There's no "granny charger" lead (domestic charging at 3kW) given...
