Re: Screen failure

So it is the screen. It has taken 2 trips to the dealer a 45 minute drive away to diagnose what seemed obvious. First we were not offered a waiting appointment as none available, no courtesy car available until January and even then we would have to pay for it. First time we had to give up waiting ...

Re: User Specific Settings ?

I still find it mad that the highly talented (sniggers) software developers at VW haven’t added an option to not bloody well ask you every sodding time if you want to log in as a user. It’s my car and I’m the only one that drives it 99.9% of the time.

Re: 12v battery whilst away for 9 weeks

In the Cupra App under vehicle permissions there is an option called High voltage battery protection. This can be changed so that HV battery is used to maintain some features to reduce to load on the 12v battery or that’s how it reads to me. It’s a bit unclear what it actually does but it seems that...

Re: Battery Issues?

Yeah it definitely is a bit of a killer. In my old diesel I could do 750 - 800 miles on a tank easily, that was doing 78mph on the motorway, so it had about 3.5 - 4x the range of my EV. I could do a 566 mile trip and still have a couple hundred miles left in the tank... based on driving on the moto...

Re: Battery Issues?

This is pretty interesting for anyone doing long range motorway trips. Translates to a range of 180 miles on the 77kWh version, averaging about 75mph. That ties up with what I was getting the other day in around 0 degrees weather. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNmPDuqd_-8 I was thinking about win...

Re: battery pre-heating possibility on a born 77KW ?

It’s got a battery heater but nothing you can do will make it turn on. The ID3 with early software has it come on in cold weather and it used up loads of power on short trips so was disabled. As stated above it’s rumoured to be coming in an update but I doubt it will happen. From a video I watched o...

Did you ever notice the side wind gusts blowing you about on the M5 much?
Yeah sometimes in a few spots.

Re: Battery Issues?

I’m from Gloucestershire but work in the nuclear industry. EDF and Magnox were both weirdly headquartered here! I don’t work for either of them anymore but still do indirectly.

Re: Battery Issues?

Hey @ChaddysByrd Do you have a charger at both ends? Do you charge to 100% before long journeys? Just checking, otherwise the below isn't really so relevant... I have a Born V3 77kWh, I live in Stockport (Greater Manchester), travel to Bridgwater (33 further south than Bristol via M5) every other w...

Re: Battery Issues?

Sorry you’re having such a rough time with it. Firstly the app is absolutely useless at estimating range. It’s completely buggy so I’d take no notice of anything it says on that front. The estimated range in the car by the battery % is a better guess but again it is just a guess based on the last fe...
