Re: Interior Quality
The interior quality of the Born is fine, probably the best interior you'll find on a BEV with an RRP of less than £40k, it's on the upper end of VAG, sitting at least equal with VW, a little lower than Audi and way better than normal Seat. My wife has the Born and I have an Audi S3 - I really don't...

Re: Preparing for delivery of Born
Unless your mileage is huge, and you use far more electricity for the car than the house, you will probably be better on Octopus Tracker than one of the BEV tariffs. Pay around 18p per kWh average for any time of the day, or pay 7.5p per kWh for the car/house within a window, and about 32p per kWh ...

Re: Test Drive Smart #1 and MG4
The MG4 doesn’t seem to fair too badly, I did have a look first. I guess it’s a bit like, Dacia in that is so low priced it not got as far to fall. The one I’m getting is cheaper than a base spec automatic Golf. If it does fall like a rock I can hand it back or as it’s got a long warranty, pay it o...

Re: Test Drive Smart #1 and MG4
Funnily enough I’ve given up on my Born as Heritage Gloucester is beyond hopeless and I’m fed up taking it back for faults that don’t get fixed and or waiting months for parts. I have just lost faith in the car and don’t want it when the warranty runs out even though I’d planned to keep it. Not tha...

Re: Tyre wear
Any one tried Michelin 215/45 ZR20 (95Y) XL TL PILOT SPORT 4 S ? They are high end sports tyres. I'd put them on a Golf R, but would be a waste on a Cupra Born. I'd go the normal PS4 or PS5. There's no bad Michelins though. They came fitted from factory to my Leon 1.5 TSi. Definitely PS4 S rather t...

Re: Tyre wear
I had heard about new cars being fitted with tyres with half tread but assumed that wasn't true as the continentals fitted on mine had full tread. Bridgestone are the only ones I'm aware of doing this. Their justification was tgat their tyres last so long anyway (due to their rock hard compound, ma...

Re: Tyre wear
Got about 11k miles out of the rears of the wife's Born (Continental EcoContact 6) when one got an unrepairable puncture. Down to 2.5mm we got a pair of Michelin Primacy EV tyres on. The Michelins seem a lot thicker than the Contis (which are shockingly thin - surprised I haven't had more than 2 pun...

Re: Transport Blocks
That's a really poor effort from the stealers, they should have been falling over themselves to apologize and make good. 400 miles with them installed could have caused damage, I suggest you keep all evidence of what happened just in case. I take it the ride was notably different? Perhaps not, if j...
