Re: Mental insurance hikes....

Just got my LV car insurance renewal... more than doubled  Now touching £800. 55 yr's old, 20k miles a year. I recently had my renewal quote at just over £800.00. I went online and told them I would not renew and they knocked £150.00 off the renewal quote. That made it cheaper than any other...

Re: Golf R to Cupra Born....

I had a long line of Golf GTi's and R's for over 20 years.... now a Born v3 with e-boost and Firestorm wheels. Spoiler alert - it's not a Golf R. If I had not moved from the Scottish Borders to Tamworth I would not have changed as I would definitely have missed the handling and performance on the ki...

Re: Panoramic sunroof head space eat-up

I had a look and it seems to me that if you have the interior sunroof cover rolled back you will have more headroom rather than less. My guess is that even with the cover closed you will still have the same clearance as a non-pano roof version. Be aware that the pano roof starts quite well back from...

Re: depreciation

I miss the ability to carry stuff. I have a roof rack, even thought apparently you are not supposed to. How is it the future? We can't even build a railway (HS2), let alone install enough chargers for the population to use. Clearly the plan is to reduce road users in the longer run. But lets face i...

Re: Doesn’t always offer to sign into the user

I agree there are quite a few small niggles with the infotainment, I've learned to live with them. Screen not prompting for user: I've had this a couple of times. I just lifted my bum off the seat for a few seconds and the prompt appeared. Electric set memory: There isn't one. The dealer told me it ...

Re: About to Spec a car

Hey Posted a few times but now looking to order a car. I have a budget. Now do I have premium paint and lose either the pan roof or DCC or have vapour grey and keep the other two. I’m looking at the vapour grey as a choice Can't help you with the DCC as I don't have it on my car. I would not go for...

Re: First World Problems - Which one to choose?!

My car's spec is in my sig below. For us, the pano roof is not worth the money. We had a pano roof on several previous Golfs and it was great, but on the Born the glass starts so far back that you don't get any benefit in the front seats, only back seat passengers will notice it. I don't like the V1...

Re: Firestorm Wheels

Interesting that the 19" Typhoon wheels only reduce the WLTP range from 427km to 424km. But larger wheels do definitely negatively impact range. There is a great Engineering Explained YT video about it: Yup, I think I watched that video back in the day. Engineers love making investigative vide...

Re: Firestorm Wheels

Hi. What ELEA4 said. I like the look of the Firestorms but I’d be buying the smaller battery. Looking at the range on the configuration page, it has a bearing on the total range. OK, fair point. I have the 58Kwh battery and the Firestorm wheels (I hate the standard v3 wheel design) and I have found...

Can you explain why the type of washer fluid or wiping the blades changes the height that the washer spray reaches on the windscreen?
