Re: Cheap and easy wireless phone charger

Useful thing to stick anywhere, TBH. Wonder how much thickness of material it will work through - I'm betting not more than 1mm or so...

Re: Full range

My general rule is to stick to 80% and to avoid 100% charges apart from in the following situations: I have a long journey planned the following day and need the range I find a free charger (ain't noone going to pass up free electrons!) I've accidentally left it on 100% after buggering about with th...

Re: Free charging

I put £39 of my own electricity in the car in October to do just under 1200 miles, working out at a touch over 3p/mile. This doesn't include the odd free charge here and there which helps keep the price down a bit, and I don't believe I paid for any charges away from home in this period. This was 33...

Re: New order - lead time

Mmmm I was told you could not have a pano roof on a V3 version (maybe only the V3 77kw) I seem to recall reading / hearing that this was originally due to a weight restriction on the car (which is why the original 77kW cars were four rather than five seats), because the glass roof is heavier than t...

Re: New order - lead time

My order is also a company car via a lease company. I’ve just cancelled my id3 order after waiting 15 months and not even getting a build date, and was offered a cancelled order for a Born. It was ordered April ‘22 and I’m due for delivery Jan ‘23 if that helps at all. Fascinating. We were in the s...

Re: Finally no longer un_born!

haha... Good point but the faster you go, the less distance you have before you need to charge. For example I need to make a 5hr (250miles) round trip tomorrow and although the Born could make it with a rapid charge at the destination, it's just not worth the hassle. The Tarraco will do the return ...

On longer journeys, I must admit I prefer the Tarraco for the larger size and higher cruising speed.
I know the Born will only do 99mph, but do you really cruise around faster than this in the UK...?

(Nice polishing job, BTW!)

Re: What EV charger

If it was 1 in 10 like you were experiencing, I would leave as is, but it was more like 4 times out of 5 for me, and only in the last 7 weeks - almost flawless for 12 months on the ID3s and 4 months onthe Borns prior to that. I'll not worry about the car suffering insomnia when plugged in for a cha...

Re: What EV charger

What are these "nasty things with the signalling"? I've just started using the aforementioned workaround after my Born started charging at 3.7A in the Octopus Go window about 7 weeks ago. Been a few months since I last spoke to them, but my understanding is that they are forcing the car t...

Re: Heated Mirrors - not working?

So, had a quick look - what a daft design! It looks like you rotate the mirror adjust knob as you would normally do to select L or R before pressing it up/down/left/right to adjust the mirror. In this case, however, you rotate it an extra notch clockwise, past "R" and this lights up the he...
