Re: MyEnergi Zappi

Just had a Zappi charger fitted at home and I have to say I’m finding it a little underwhelming. It does what it needs to do ie. charges the car but the interface and display seems very out of date, and the app isn’t the most intuitive or modern. I don’t have PV panels but am on an ev tariff that p...

Re: Typhoon alloy copper stickers

I've got access to a vinyl cutter and the software, but trying to save some of my time measuring, drawing, cutting and test fitting, by getting a decent straight on image of the alloys. If I can get a good straight on image, I can vectorise it and then I should only need a couple of point to point ...

Re: Cornwall

It's really annoying that with the Firestorm wheels you have to have those little extra bits of trim on the wheel arches just to meet legal requirements. On the other hand, that's the first detailed view of the wheels that I have seen. I specced them as both my wife and myself thought the standard V...

Re: Puncture - Anyone know if Repairable?

I don't think I would be comfortable with a repair that close to the sidewall especially if you're losing pressure. Over the years I've had at least three similar situations on ordinary tyres and they have not been deemed repairable. In fact since the tyres had several thousand miles on them it has ...

OK, I'll play, or at least I'll try to remember them all as I've been driving since 1954 both here and in Saudi Arabia (oh the joy of subsidized petrol at 15p a liter!) which explains some of the gas guzzlers. Just tried to setup the mirror dip, and it works when in reverse, but oddly doesn’t seem to go back to normal when going back to ‘D/B’. Aaaah, the technology!!! 😅
If it's the same as the Golf, you need to drive forward at more than 5kph before it returns.

Re: Boot compartment

Hi, P.S. in Portugal it is mandatory to have a warning triangle. They can't sell a car without it. Don't know about other countries. I believe this is the difference. It was the same on my previous cars in that they had a space for a warning triangle because it was mandatory in most European countr...

Re: Security and Tracker

I've seen the same queries on the Golf R forums and the most important question seems to be: "If someone steals and thrashes the nuts off the car, would you want it back?". While accepting that a Born is not likely to be thrashed, I still probably wouldn't want it back, so a tracker is not...
