Re: Who’s happy with their Born ?

I’m also suspicious of Octopus intelligent long term, Intelligent is great as I can charge the house batteries overnight, and run the washing machine, dish washer etc, but I’m thinking the energy supplier taking control of the car charger is going to lead to changes that will not benefit the likes ...

Re: Who’s happy with their Born ?

Good Evening All…. I’m Just 1 year into owning the Cupra born. V2. Prior to this I drove an id4 for a year. Overall, I think the born is quite a nice car, comfortable to drive etc. however after trying for 2 years the whole electric thing doesn’t seem to be working out. The cost of charging now ver...

Re: Tyre size 235/45-r19

Also be aware that, in the UK, cars with Firestorm wheels have small plastic strips added to the wheel arches because the tyres extend slightly beyond the wheel arches and are therefore not compliant with UK safety law. If you fit the wider tyres you may have to fit those strips or face being stoppe...

Re: How many hours??

I didn’t mention that my charging speed is very consistent, 10.8kw/h from a 11kw/h rated box. Your time to charge depends on what speed you will get at home. UK domestic supply is single phase so it maxes out at about 7.4-7.7 KW. Many European countries have a 3-phase domestic supply which can prov...

Re: How many hours??

I looked at my figures for the last 11 months also on a 58KWh battery. Mostly short journeys, I rarely get above 3 miles/KWh. I averaged 170 miles per month with an average of 65KWh/month of charge into the car (higher in winter, lower in summer). At the charge rate of about 7.4 KW per hour on my ho...

Re: Cupra Wall Charger (Elli) stops Charging randomly

Get a TP-Link Powerline (or similar) starter pack with a wifi repeater. Plug the transmitter into a power socket near your router and connect an ethernet cable. Plug the wifi repeater into a power socket in the garage and set up your charger.

Re: Ceramic Coating?

I don't think the Gard-X is a real ceramic coating, just a "protective" coating. I've done a proper Gyeon Synchro coating on my previous 2 cars, but that's a 3-4 day cleaning, decontaminating, polishing and coating job. It is great once it's done and lasts for about 3 years. It makes huge ...

Re: Too many Aussies are barely enough!

Yes, I've driven in OZ, and it can be hot, but Victoria doesn't get as hot as Saudi, with summer temps up to 50-odd centigrade. Where do you park in Saudi? Anywhere there's shade!
