Re: Cupra Born VZ owners thoughts
Thanks for the info my next questions relate to charging. Cupra are offering me the free ohme charger I will probably go for the pro version which has a tethered cable. I'm thinking of having this installed in the garage so I can charge indoors or out. So what I'd like to know is what people think ...

Re: charging could not be started because the time response has expired
Set the Zappi to "FAST" or it will not charge at the full 7KW rate. Only use eco++ if you have solar panels and not in conjunction with Octopus.
Do a search as there are several threads on here about Octopus and Zappi with a lot of good information.

Re: First time EV and Cupra owner
Outdated nonsense and FUD. It was almost true several years back but most (if not all) manufacturers have changed technology so it is no greater a risk than keyed entry which was being duped before keyless existed. Yawn. Not relevant to the Born. I've had KESSY cars for about 10 years and never kno...

Re: First time EV and Cupra owner
First thing I turned off in my Born was keyless entry. 🤣 I hate it OK, you're entitled to your own choices. I love it. First thing I specify on a new car. and it also makes your car far more vulnerable to theft. Outdated nonsense and FUD. It was almost true several years back but most (if not all) ...

Re: Few niggles on the VZ
Starting to get a bit fed up of various little issues that I'm getting earache from the wife about and are winding me up. The car is incredibly good apart from these weird little software issues. 3. Says depress brake to select drive or reverse (or whatever it normally says) but doesn't respond to ...

Re: You getting another one?
If you're public charging, then the running costs are on par with an ICE. If you can charge at home, on off-peak rates, then running costs are approaching zero - especially if you have Solar PV with microgen export rates. Exactly. I have Solar and a battery and I am able to do all my charging at ho...

Re: You getting another one?
For me, it's a no-brainer. Yes I will get another EV. I don't do much mileage, I mostly do short journeys. I have solar panels and I do all my charging at home on an overnight low tariff. Will it be another Born? I would like it to be, I love driving the car, but the infotainment/electronics are jus...

Re: Battery consumption in mountains
But don't you have to take into consideration the phase of the moon since it has an effect on the gravitational pull of the earth (as evidenced by tides)? Oh, and if the wind is blowing uphill or downhill and the road is wet or dry? Of course, the number and sharpness of corners will probably have a...

Re: Charging costs are killing me
I get the frustration. You do have to be somewhat technically inclined to set this up and it certainly took more than one attempt for me to get the test charge completed. I can't imagine my 70 year old parents wanting to faff about with logons to various apps just to get the car set up to charge! H...
