Re: Cheap and easy wireless phone charger

Ok, so in what circumstances does the phone get signal boost? E.g. via in-built wireless pad but the charging needs to be working? Or if the charging isnt working via a USB-C port in the console? Uhhh... not sure. I've never looked up the patents. Technically it should be a completely different cir...

Re: Excessive consumption in city drive.

25kWh/100km is not at all unusual for an EV for a bunch of short trips in the winter when there's battery heating and/or cabin heating involved, especially if you happen to not have a heat-pump. Mind you Lisbon isn't that cold right now... Driving style has a big effect too. It takes a while to adju...

Re: Cheap and easy wireless phone charger

In crude terms, the signal booster in the 5NA980611 unit is like a pre-amp which is wired to a so-called "compenser" mounted in the trunk which is the main signal booster/amplifier. The compenser is wired to a secondary antenna in the roof-mounted antenna module. I didn't order any Tech pa...

Re: New owner of Cupra Born - beginner questions

Oh I don't have any insider info  Last January I started reading the German born-forum.de and ID-series meinid.com forum and keep my eyes on posts from a few users who share very deep technical tidbits. I also hang out here though because I grew up in an English-speaking household ;) What I've...

Re: Software Version

Strange that they don't display this version in the system info screen. Not strange - the software version displayed only from the infotainment unit, aka ICAS3. There are a lot of other hardware units potentially involved in software updates. So in this case the difference between version 3.1 and 3...

Re: Scraping Noise when coming out of Full lock

Check out this log that an owner recorded: 200.png - The green line shows the steering wheel position in degrees as the owner rotated the steering wheel while driving. - The indigo line shows what the steering servo is doing. - During specific acceleration and steering combinations, you can see the ...

Re: Scraping Noise when coming out of Full lock

My car makes the noise/vibration when turning the steering wheel rapidly from full lock to central when manoevering. It is a vibration that starts at a large amplitude and rapidly decreases to zero. I think it some kind of system instability that is provoked by a rapid change of input variable (ste...

Re: Scraping Noise when coming out of Full lock

For all those complaining about the brake binding noise, try turning off Auto Hold and see if that makes a difference. I personally like Auto Hold and so I just tolerate the noise. I get it about half lock pulling away fast, eg turning out of a junction quickly. Definitely feels like the front wheel...
