Re: Order Lead Times
It appears 160 Cupra Borns have been recalled. These are all undelivered cars. They all have a steering column fault. Our dealer SMC Woking will offer us a loan car to enable us to trade in our ICE car. No idea when the steering column fault will be fixed. That's quite generous of SMC. They were sh...

Re: Order Lead Times
Confirmed with dealer my Born is currently at status 38, port of exit released for shipping but currently delayed due to backlog with estimated 3 weeks from now. Ordered back end of June and was quoted 1st January originally which always felt like a placeholder, got an update in November this would...

Re: Dealer Administration Fee
I suspect this is a new thing since the dealerships became a place for window shopping and collection, with the car considered to be ordered direct from Cupra themselves, with a bit of dealership interaction. This wasn't the case a year ago, it's a new thing Cupra have brought in - seemingly to remo...

Re: Born no more!
True, that’s exactly what I’ve done 3,000 miler. What I wasn’t aware of, they come standard with 4 years warranty and no obligatory servicing, so factor the saved servicing costs in makes it cheaper again! I can’t justify the servicing bills on EV’s being so high when most of the checks would be do...

Re: Born no more!
Hope the Tesla was bought 2nd hand - would not want to be financing the amount of depreciation those are suffering right now. Lots of cheap 2-3 year old examples around.

Re: Should I buy a Born until the issues are resolved
with a heavy reliance on Rapid charging - which can be a total PITA A PITA because of the charging infrastructure in the UK, or because of issues with the Born related to fast charging? I've had my Born a couple of weeks now and have only fast charged it once with no issues. The rest of the time I'...

Re: Should I buy a Born until the issues are resolved
Bird Shite marks all modern cars with water based paints, you can't get away from it, no matter the marque. If it does leave a mark after its all washed off, if easily buffs out with a polisher. Hasn't happened with the Borns we have, but one of our ID3s looked to have been in outside storage when w...

Re: Born v2 58kWh E-boost for sale
Got an agreed price with a dealer, in principle. Will be going on 27 Mar 2023 if there's no private interest at £32k. A little less than i'd hoped, but as the Motorway.co.uk price has dropped £700 in a week (£31200) and a surprising number of large dealership groups are not buying EVs in at the mome...

Re: Heko wind deflectors
I was going to fit them to leave windows open slightly in summer for less noise & save on using air con but they apparently don't reduce wind noise. The general rule for Summer ventilation is: Below 30mph, open a window, above that, use the aircon. Somewhere between 30 and 40, the aerodynamic d...

Re: Heko wind deflectors
I thought wind deflectors were just for old fellas who smoke in their car and need the windows open at all times to get rid of their ash/butt's.
