Re: Would you have another Born?
For me the Cupra is as good as it gets for an EV right now that isn't a hulking pig ugly SUV. Great as a second car, I still don't think we're at the point where most people would want one as their primary car. For me that won't come until we have the battery tech so that we can get a normal sized c...

Re: Battery dropping fast after charging
Could the OP perhaps be doing the remote car warm-up before making a journey and not taking this into account? In the Winter you might be lucky to scrape 2 miles per kWh on a journey under 10 miles as the battery warming is as hungry as driving the car moderately.

Re: Possible new Born
Why would you go Aurora Blue interior and Battleship Grey exterior? For me, V3 over V2 is doesn't give you much extra unless you really need those electric seats. The 20" ride is a little harsh on our crap UK roads and the V2 alloys are the best looking of the bunch IMO.

Re: Screen failure
Had a 2018 Polo GTI+ screen go black and stay that way. Thought it was defective hardware, but it was software.

Re: Jeez EV car insurance!
£394 still isn’t too bad. Our eUp that went back on Monday after our lease ended was quoted around £700, this was after we had paid £444 last year. That price was for April - it could be a lot more than that if my renewal were due now. Just one of the factors deterring BEV ownership right now:- Hig...

Re: disabling lane assist
OBD11 - programmed to remember last setting. You can switch it on and off by the usual way, but when you turn it off, it stays off. Lane Assist active is not a requirement for insured driving.

Re: Jeez EV car insurance!
You can thank Tesla for that silly price. With its one piece gigacasting chassis, they're an automatic write off with minimal damage following a shunt, and all EVs are paying the price. That's the main factor, other factors include lack of parts availability, tagging on a big courtesy car cost for t...

Re: Dash cam install in minutes
Hi just to resurrect this thread. I went into my local Halfrauds to see if they could hardwire my dashcam. I have always just run the cable down the A pillar and plugged into either a 12v socket or a USB socket, but as the Cupra has neither it's the hardwire option only. Can you confirm the yellow ...

Re: Changing default driving mode
It's an EU directive at play. So you get representative fuel economy/efficiency (vs official cycle figures) unless you consciously opt out by changing mode, you will default to comfort settings for engine/motor on every ignition cycle. All VAG cars have done this since about 2013, regardless of marq...

Re: Cupra Born Driver Modes - Effect on Range
There's not much difference as the regen really covers up what would normally go to waste with an uneconomical driving style. On my S3, I'll get 20% better fuel economy around the doors than my wife. With the Born it's more like 5%.
